What should I expect to pay?
Every wardrobe is different, so our quotes are based on the size, design and complexity of the build and not simply the price you paid for the furniture.
As a real example, the wardrobe in the video above cost £165 for the complete installation. Smaller wardrobes may cost less, while larger configurations, sliding doors, internal drawers and more complex designs may cost more.
We show a real price example to give you a realistic idea before you request a quote.
You’re paying for the time, skill and responsibility required to build it correctly, not a percentage of the purchase price.
You’ll always receive a clear quotation before deciding whether to proceed.
Your installation, properly planned
Once we receive your quotation request, your planner will review the details of your wardrobe and make sure we understand exactly what needs assembling.
If you decide to proceed, we’ll arrange the installation and allocate an appropriate installer.
You’ll know who is attending before they arrive, and once the work is complete the installation goes through our completion and quality process.
That means your service isn’t simply: “Here’s somebody with some tools.”
It’s a planned installation from start to finish.

Your questions answered.
Can I choose my booking date?
Of course. We’ll ask you to choose a suitable installation date through our booking portal. You can also select an available time slot to suit your diary.
Does my wardrobe need to be delivered before I book your service?
Ideally, yes. Your wardrobe should be delivered before booking us. Once you know your delivery date, we recommend booking your installation for no earlier than the following day. This gives a little breathing space should the retailer experience any delivery delays. Where possible, please check the number of boxes received against your delivery paperwork. If boxes arrive damaged, please contact the retailer as soon as possible.
Please do not book your installation for the same day as your furniture delivery. Delivery times can change, so we recommend choosing an installation date from the following day onwards to ensure everything has arrived before your installer attends
Do I need to pay for the installer’s parking?
Yes. We ask customers to make suitable parking available for the installer while they are on site. Where possible, this should be on your driveway or other private parking. If a permit is required, please arrange this in advance. Where paid parking applies, the customer is responsible for the parking cost for the duration of the installation. Most areas now use parking apps, so this can usually be arranged or extended easily while the installer is on site. If parking is likely to be difficult, restricted or some distance from the property, please let your planner know before the installation date so we can plan accordingly.
Do I need to unpack the wardrobe?
No. Please leave everything boxed. Your installer will unpack the parts required for the build and keep the packaging together as they work. If any boxes are visibly damaged on delivery, however, please photograph the damage and contact the retailer before your installation appointment.
What if there are missing or damaged parts?
Don’t worry. It’s uncommon, but it can happen. If you notice anything missing or damaged before your appointment, please contact us and the retailer as soon as possible. If your installer discovers a missing or damaged part during the build, they’ll explain what has been found and record the details so you know exactly what needs to be requested from the retailer. We can then help arrange a return visit once the replacement parts arrive. Additional attendance charges may apply where we need to return because parts were missing, damaged or unavailable at the original appointment.
Do I need to clear the room beforehand?
Yes, please. Your installer will need sufficient clear working space around the area where the wardrobe is being assembled. Where possible, remove clothing from the wardrobe, furniture, boxes and other belongings from the immediate installation area before the appointment. The clearer the room, the easier it is for your installer to work safely and efficiently.
Do I need to move the wardrobe boxes into the room?
Let us know where the boxes will be when requesting your quote.
If they need to be carried upstairs, moved between rooms or transported any significant distance within the property, please tell your planner in advance so we can allow enough time and make sure the correct number of installers attend.
Can you dismantle my old wardrobe first?
Absolutely. Just tell us when requesting your quote and we can include dismantling as part of your planned booking. Please note that we are unable to dispose of old wardrobes or furniture, but dismantled items can be left neatly in a suitable location ready for disposal or collection.
Will you remove my skirting boards?
Not unless this has been specifically included in your quote. Most freestanding wardrobes are assembled with existing skirting boards left in place. If your wardrobe design requires skirting boards, coving or other fixtures to be altered or removed, please tell your planner before the booking. Our installers will only carry out work that has been agreed in advance. If this has not been agreed in advance, we will still need to charge for the build.
Will you fix the wardrobe to the wall?
Where the manufacturer specifies that the wardrobe should be secured to the wall, your installer will normally fit the supplied anti-tip or wall-fixing system where the wall construction and installation conditions allow. Please let us know beforehand if you are aware of any concealed pipes, electrical cables, unusual wall construction or other reason why drilling may not be suitable.
What if my walls or floors aren’t perfectly level?
Slightly uneven floors and walls are common and can usually be accommodated during assembly and adjustment. If the condition of the room prevents the wardrobe from being installed correctly or safely, your installer will discuss the available options with you before proceeding.
Can you cut the wardrobe around skirting boards, sockets or other obstacles?
Standard wardrobe assembly does not normally include modifying or cutting the furniture to fit around architectural features, sockets, switches or other obstacles.
If you think your installation may require alterations, please send photographs when requesting your quote. Our planning team can then advise whether this is something we can include.
Can you attach multiple wardrobes together?
Usually, yes. If you have several wardrobe frames designed to sit together, let us know when requesting your quote so joining, levelling and final alignment can be included in the installation.
Can you fit internal accessories as well?
In most cases, yes. Manufacturer-supplied shelves, drawers, rails, baskets, lighting-ready components and other internal accessories can normally be included.
Please list everything you have when requesting your quote so we can allow sufficient time for the complete installation.
What about sliding doors?
Yes. We regularly assemble wardrobes with hinged and sliding-door systems. Sliding doors often require additional adjustment to achieve smooth operation and correct alignment, so please make sure we know the exact wardrobe model when requesting your quote.
Will my installer know which wardrobe I’ve ordered?
Yes. Every installer assigned to your booking has proven furniture-assembly experience and will be briefed on the make, model and details of your installation before attending. You won’t be anyone’s practice run.
How long will the installation take?
Installation times vary considerably depending on the size, design and complexity of the wardrobe. A simple two-door wardrobe may take considerably less time than a large multi-frame system with drawers, internal fittings and sliding doors. Your quote and booking information will give you an indication, but our priority is always to complete the installation properly rather than rush the build.
Do I need to be at home?
Someone over the age of 18 should normally be available when your installer arrives to provide access, confirm the installation location and answer any questions about the booking. We also ask that somebody is available at the end of the appointment to inspect the completed work with the installer. Please choose a booking date when somebody will be available to do this.
Can you take away the boxes?
This is something we’re unable to offer, but your installer will make sure all packaging is gathered together neatly and left in a suitable location such as your bin store, garage or recycling area.
What happens once the build is finished?
Your installer will complete the final checks required by our Quality Management System (QMS), make any necessary door and drawer adjustments, tidy the working area and ask you to inspect the completed installation with them.
Can I ask the installer to do extra tasks while they’re here?
This needs to be agreed at the time of the quote request or as soon as possible after. If additional items are present on the day that were not included in the agreed booking, your installer may be unable to assemble them and reserves the right to leave these items unassembled. Any additional work agreed directly between the customer and installer, without prior approval from our planning team, falls outside the Home Flatpack booking and is not covered by our workmanship guarantee under any circumstances. This helps us keep appointments running to schedule and ensures every customer receives the time allocated to their booking
I need the wardrobe assembled as soon as possible. Can you help?
We’ll always offer the earliest suitable appointment available. For some installations, our Fast Track Flatpack service may also be available, subject to installer availability. Weekend appointments and selected time slots can also be booked at an additional rate. Please see our Services page for current options and pricing.
