Good Enough Isn’t Good Enough Anymore.

As Home Flatpack moves into its next chapter, one of the biggest changes we’re making isn’t something you’ll necessarily see when an installer arrives at your door.

It’s our Quality Management System — or QMS.

Put simply, we’ve created a much more structured way of making sure every installation is completed to the standard we expect.

What does that actually mean?

Our QMS follows a job from booking through to completion. It sets clear expectations for our planning team and installers, while giving us the evidence we need to check that those standards have actually been met.

That includes things such as installer verification, completion photographs, installation checklists, customer sign-off and quality reviews.

It also means we’re getting much better at spotting patterns. If something isn’t working, we can identify it, fix it and improve the process rather than simply hoping it doesn’t happen again.

Better for customers. Better for retailers. Better for installers.

For homeowners, it means greater confidence that the person arriving has been authorised by us, knows what’s expected and that their work is accountable.

For our retail partners, it provides a much stronger installation service behind their products and with clearer processes, better evidence and fewer problems landing back on their customer service teams.

And for good installers, it’s good news too. Clear standards mean everyone knows what’s expected, great performance can be recognised and those consistently doing things properly aren’t treated the same as those who don’t.

And yes, the standards have teeth.

We’re deliberately raising the bar.

If something goes wrong, we’ll always look at the circumstances fairly. Mistakes happen and genuine problems can occur.

But repeatedly ignoring procedures, failing to provide required evidence, sending somebody else to a job without authorisation or delivering work below the standards we’ve agreed?

That’s different.

Our QMS gives us a structured way to recognise excellent installers, address problems quickly and, where necessary, stop working with people who aren’t right for our network.

Because quality management shouldn’t just be a folder full of policies.

It should actually manage quality.

And that’s exactly what we’re building.
