Sometimes a furniture build comes with a story.
We were booked to assemble an ARTI wardrobe for a couple which had been sitting in its boxes for around five months.
Partway through the installation, the wife appeared with a very welcome cup of tea and thanked us. She explained that her husband had been meaning to assemble everything for months, but the job just kept getting put off.
Later, when she wasn’t around, her husband came in for a quiet word of his own.
“Thank you. You’ve saved my bacon.”
He admitted he’d looked through the instructions, found the whole project overwhelming and simply didn’t know where to start. He hadn’t wanted to tell his wife because he didn’t want her to think he’d let her down.
The lovely part? Neither of them ever knew what the other had told us.
By the end of the day, the boxes were finally gone and they had the dressing room they’d been waiting months for.
Sometimes calling in a professional isn’t just about saving time. Sometimes it saves a little domestic diplomacy too.
