At Home Flatpack, we take the privacy of our customers, installers, retail partners and website visitors seriously.

This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it and how we use and protect it.

Who we are

Home Flatpack is operated by Home Flatpack Ltd.

We provide furniture, garden product and related installation services throughout the UK.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Home Flatpack Ltd is responsible for the personal information we collect and process.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect information including:

  • Your name, address and contact details
  • Information about your booking or installation
  • Products requiring installation
  • Photographs and installation records
  • Communications between you and our team
  • Payment and transaction information
  • Feedback, complaints or customer service records
  • Information you choose to provide about reasonable adjustments
  • Installer and contractor information
  • Information provided to us by a retail partner in connection with an installation

We only aim to collect information that is relevant to providing, managing or improving our services.

How we use your information

We may use personal information to arrange and manage installations, provide quotations, communicate with you, allocate suitable installers, process payments and maintain records of completed work.

Information may also be used for quality assurance, resolving problems or complaints, improving our services and meeting our legal obligations.

Photographs and installation evidence

Our Quality Management System may require installers to photograph completed work and, where appropriate, relevant areas before or during an installation.

These photographs help us confirm that work has been completed correctly and provide an installation record if questions arise later.

Installers are expected to avoid unnecessarily photographing people or unrelated personal belongings.

Photographs used publicly for marketing or social media will be handled separately and, where appropriate, permission will be obtained.

Reasonable adjustments

You may choose to tell us about adjustments that could make our service more accessible or comfortable for you or your family.

We ask customers to tell us what would help, rather than providing unnecessary personal or medical information.

Where information reveals health or disability information, we recognise that this may constitute special category personal data and will handle it with additional care.

Sharing information

We only share personal information where there is a legitimate reason to do so.

For example, relevant booking information may be shared with the installer assigned to your project or with a retail partner involved in your booking.

We may also use trusted technology and service providers to help us operate our website, booking systems, communications, payments and business administration.

We do not sell customer personal information.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including where records need to be retained for legal, accounting, contractual or quality-assurance purposes.

Different types of information may therefore be retained for different periods.

Keeping information secure

We take reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect the information we hold.

Access to customer and installation information is limited to people who reasonably require it to perform their role.

Installers are also required to handle customer information appropriately and confidentially.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion in certain circumstances
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Request transfer of information where applicable
  • Withdraw consent where we rely upon consent

Cookies and our website

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate correctly, understand how visitors use the website and support other website functionality.

Further information will be available in our Cookie Policy.

You also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled.

Our approach

Collect what we need. Protect what we're trusted with. Don't use information in ways people wouldn't reasonably expect.
