Why We Created the Home Flatpack London Hub

Providing a dependable installation service in Central London requires a different approach.

For years, furniture installers have travelled into London from surrounding areas to complete customer bookings. Although this could work well on quieter days, it also created a recurring problem: traffic.

An installer could begin the day on schedule but lose valuable time sitting in congestion between appointments. A delayed journey would affect the next customer, reduce the number of installations that could be completed and place unnecessary pressure on the installer’s working day.

The problem wasn’t the quality of the installers or the planning of the bookings. The operating model simply wasn’t designed around the realities of Central London.

So, we remodelled it.

Introducing the Home Flatpack London Hub

Bookings within London Zones 1 and 2 are now completed exclusively by installers based in or around Central London.

Instead of routinely sending installers into the capital from outside London, our planners allocate these bookings to local team members who understand the area, its transport network and the challenges presented by different buildings.

This includes restricted parking, loading bays, concierge arrangements, controlled access, lifts and properties where carrying tools and equipment from a vehicle can be more complicated than the installation itself.

The result is a service designed around London rather than simply extended into it.

More reliable arrival times

No company can promise that London will suddenly become free of disruption. However, using locally based installers significantly reduces the unnecessary journey time built into each diary.

Bookings can be grouped geographically, routes can be planned more intelligently and installers can spend more of their day helping customers rather than sitting in traffic.

If support is needed, another member of the London team is also far more likely to be nearby.

No additional London surcharge

Customers do not pay an additional London, congestion or ULEZ charge when booking through Home Flatpack.

Our published installation price remains the installation price. The only additional cost may be parking, where required. Parking is passed on at cost without an administration fee or markup.

Customers can help by providing details of visitor parking, loading arrangements and access restrictions before the appointment.

Supporting our environmental commitments

The London Hub also supports our Environmental Sustainability Policy.

Using local installers, grouping nearby bookings and making appropriate use of public transport helps reduce unnecessary mileage and avoidable emissions. It is a practical operational change—not simply an environmental statement.

It also makes commercial sense. A more efficient journey is better for the installer, better for the customer and better for the city.

A service built around the places we work

The London Hub is part of the wider Home Flatpack relaunch and our commitment to improving every stage of the customer journey.

We looked closely at what previously caused delays, wasted time and frustration. Rather than accepting those problems as unavoidable, we redesigned the way Central London bookings are planned.

Local team members. Smarter scheduling. Fewer unnecessary journeys. More dependable appointments.

That’s the Home Flatpack London Hub.
